Kevin Beattie
Beattie came through the ranks at Portman Road while Bobby Robson was in charge at the club and made his debut for England in the year 1975 and the player went on to make nine appearances for the national team. He played a crucial role in the Ipswich side that won the 1978 FA Cup final and helped Ipswich reach the 1981 UEFA Cup final, missing the final encounter due to injury. After spending many successful years at Ipswich, he moved to Colchester in 1982.
Mick Stockwell
Stockwell started his career off playing for Ipswich Town in the year 1982. He was a right sided player whose carer was halted when he broke his leg while jogging. He battled back from the injury and made his 150th appearance for Ipswich Town in March 1990 and established him self in the first team squad after that.
Paul Cooper
Cooper signed for Ipswich Town in 1974 and spent nearly his entire playing career in goal at Portman Road. He made nearly 450 appearances for the club in goal and was well known by many in the game for his knack of saving penalty kicks. After spending 13 consistent years with the club he moved to Leicester City in 1987, spending two years at the club. |
